I've updated my stance, because I wanted language that says more clearly what I actually believe.
For a while, a lot of my work was framed through the different worlds I move between: leaders, students, and institutions. That still matters. It's still how I read what's happening. But it's not the clearest way to say what the work is really about.
What I believe is simpler than that.
The organisations that will do well in the age of AI won't be the ones with the most tools. They'll be the ones that build intelligence into the centre of how they work: how they make decisions, how they learn, and how they act.
But that only works if it's built around people.
By that I mean the human stays in command. People decide what matters, what goes in, what gets trusted, and what gets acted on. AI can strengthen judgement, speed, and capability. It cannot be the thing in charge. That's the discipline behind the Verifiable Core: a human owns both ends.
I'm learning more about what it means to prove this in practice through Mappa. That work is sharpening my view of what it takes to build intelligence into the core of a real organisation without losing the human judgement, ownership, and accountability that matter most.
